Koren (from the Serbian word for “roots”) looks to early manufacturing techniques with the aim of moving beyond traditional formal shapes without sacrificing simplicity or the ability to adapt to different home settings. The single material predominates of chair. Four structural pieces plus four clips are fused together to make a Koren piece. The backrest has branches for storing coats, hats, bags and fulfilling the often unsatisfied need for somewhere to put our things when we sit down. Between our bags, coats, and scarf, sometimes it would be nice if a chair wasn’t just a chair.
